My daughter and I decided to visit Galleria last weekend, based on the reviews of other diners. Upon entering we were warmly welcomed and shown a quiet table. We ordered our drinks and appetizer fried calamari) immediately. I asked for a glass of Chardonnay. I suppose it was the house of Chardonnay, but I don't know the maker. It had a hard taste that was slightly sour. I did not mention this to the waiter, but I fed the glass during the meal and could only drink half the glass $13,50/glass). When the waiter arrived with our appetizers, he took our dinner order. I only realized later when I heard him with other diners that there was a special menu. My daughter ordered Rigatoni with a vodka sauce and I ordered Gnocchi with Veal Ragu. When our meals arrived, my gnocchi seemed to swim in a galenical tomato sauce. I can only describe the texture that comes from a condensed Campbell's tomato soup, you know what I mean. There was no taste at all at the sauce and the calf bites were fed. I was very disappointed with my court. My daughter said her meal was okay, but it was only Rigatoni Pasta in a vodka sauce, can't really screw it up. Fifteen minutes later, when the waiter came back and realized that I wasn't interested in my dinner, he offered me another meal. He was very persistent that I didn't leave the restaurant hungry and said he wouldn't charge me for the gnocchi. I finally agreed to get a simple chicken parmesan dinner. When it arrived, it was good, but very basic tomato taste. Overall, the meal was just fine. The fried Calamari was crispy and had a nice taste, especially with only a little lemon juice the Marinara diving sauce was too salty. Dinner wasn't good. I travelled around the northeast, and the Atlantic coast, as well as far in Italy. This restaurant was not well represented. Also I was very surprised that it did not serve insalata with meals. An intermediate cleaning course is usually served in upscale Italian restaurants. I had not expected to pay an extra $12 to have a small salad between the courses, but I did not ask if it was included I had just assumed. In the end, I appreciate the effort of the waiter to offer me a second meal, which is why I gave three stars instead of two), but I would not recommend this restaurant.
