The food was delicious! What a great new restaurant in the uptown Saint John area. My husband and I went on a date to the Gahan Saturday night it was busy, but , we only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Our food was extremely reasonably priced! Same meal in Toronto would be well over $100! The oysters were fresh and beautifully displayed. My husband had a burger and onion rings+ beer and I had the Gahan tacos. My tacos we're Incredibly filling and had great heat to the cajan steak with gucamole which tasted freshly prepared. Great atmosphere and food!
Typically when a new restaurant or pub opens, there are inevitably problems. Issues with computer systems, staff training, etc. This was NOT the case with Gahans in SJ. A group of us went there Friday, their opening day, litteraly 10 minutes after they opened the doors. The atmosphere was great. The beer was great. And most importantly, the staff were amazing. Friendly and attentive, we were very well taken care of. Can't wait to go back! You should be very proud of your opening day! Cheers
We had our first visit this evening for Chop Chop...awesome food and excellent service! Please please please put the hushpuppies on your regular menu...I'll be dreaming about those tonight! I also loved the grilled asparagus...I want to grill mine all the time now! I sampled some of my husband's bacon fig jam...it was delicious! He particularly loved the tiramisu...he decided it would be impolite to lick the mason jar...LOL. Thank you for a lovely meal...we'll definitely be back!
The kitchen staff is very knowledgeable and the servers are all aware of how serious it is inform the kitchen on all allergies. I have eaten here what must be over 50 times, and I have never gotten sick (celiac). There are GF buns for their massive burgers, and plenty of other GF options.
