Outstanding. This was our second time visiting Folium and we couldn’t have had a better second experience. We first visited some years ago and were so impressed at the time that we have not been able to forget about it and had to make a special trip back! The food is on another level. We cannot understand how they have not yet been awarded a Michelin star as some of the dishes they have created are equal if not better than some of the 2/3 Michelin star restaurants we have been fortunate enough to visit. I am sure that it must be on its way soon! We had the long menu, all of which was creative and completely delicious. £120pp plus £15pp supplemental cheese dish) For us, the star of the menu was the Orkney Scallop with Ponzu sauce. It is an absolute explosion of flavour, beautifully cooked scallops, faultless in our opinion and one of the most memorable dishes we have eaten to date. A perfectly curated menu and as for the service the most friendly, professional, attentive and knowledgeable servers in which they played a big part in making our meal so wonderful. I found this restaurant through a Groupon deal and paid £120 for the short tasting meal with a glass of champagne for two people. I didn't know what to expect with the food but my partner and I had the most incredible experience there. The food was just out of this world and every dish was like a taste explosion. I'd read some reviews stating people didn't feel full after the short menu; how ridiculous! To me, it's an experience, you're not there for pub grub, this is in another dimension! We paid £200 overall for food, drinks and tips and felt it was well worth it The restaurant and toilets were immaculate and we felt relaxed and comfortable there. The waiting staff were very friendly and professional and hats off to the chefs for an amazing experience. We would love to come back.
Fantastic experience for my birthday. My girlfriend was kind enough to take me here to celebrate and I wasn’t disappointed. The staff were fantastic and the food was outstanding. A real feast for the eyes, nose and mouth. If you like fine dining this is fabulous.
