Chez Diem is the real deal! On a rather cold night we felt like a hot soup would be in order, so we visited this Vietnamese Restaurant in old town. You cannot drive to it as it is a tiny side street but an open parking lot is just 50m away offering plenty of spaces. I had the Poh with beef that came with short egg noodles in a rich broth. Bean sprouts, lemon and mint leaves were served on the side so one could add them to taste. The shredded beef was perfectly cooked medium well simply by adding it to the broth towards the end. My better half had the chicken soup with rice noodles and it came with slices of chicken breast in a nice chicken broth. Servings looked a bit small but since they were very heavy on substantive content they made a full meal after all. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended if you want original Vietnamese food while in town.

My fiance and I recently ate at this quaint little restaurant in Frejus. The waiter/owner is very friendly and really does try to help by making appropriate recommendations based on what you tell him you are interested in. We found the food tasty, although a bit limited if you are a vegetarian--even one who eats fish. We would definitely eat here again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a break from traditional French food.I'm not sure if this restaurant could be romantic. While we were there, only one other couple was there, but we were outside and the other couple smoked like there was no tomorrow, so that puts me off romance...but it could be ok for smokers.

Unsophisticated family restaurant in a small pedestrian street of Frejus-ville (not far from the arenas). The restaurant is small, 6 or 7 tables inside and about the same number outside. The service, done by the owner and his daughter, is very friendly and efficient. The food prepared by his wife is delicious, as good as in Saïgon. The customers are mostly local, regular visitors - a good sign.My wife and I had lunch one day and dinner another time during our holiday and both meals were excellent. No doubt we will come back.If you like authentic asiatic food, this place is probably one of the best in the region.

We found this restaurant by chance and were guided to a table in the garden which was unfortunately situated by the outhouse where the freezer was situated . Staff frequently got bags of frozen food and carried them into the kitchen. We had spring rolls to start which were very nice .Mains were ok except the rice which was horrid just a big lump of mush.Asked for the bill which took 30 minutes (when we first asked the chap didn't seem to think we had a bill !!)
