Em's Cuisine - Table reservation

We visited Em's on the recommendation of my father, who lives nearby and is a frequent diner here. The restaurant is in a fairly remote location, far from the beaten track but is most definitely worth taking the time to find. The restaurant is very much part of Em's house, and as such has a really friendly and welcoming feel to it from the moment you arrive. We chose to eat outside as it was a lovely evening, and enjoyed the beautiful views from our table . The amuse bouche was a tasty combination of puff pastry, cheese, sun dried tomato and garlic and arrived with a sparkling rose wine. For our starter we had garlic mushrooms with a delicious dipping sauce. When Em cleared our starter plates she asked us all how we liked our steaks cooked, to ensure we all got exactly what we wanted. The main course of Tournedos Rossini was absolutely stunning. The generously sized fillet steak was melt in the mouth and full of incredible flavour.The foie gras was equally indulgent and melted wonderfully, blending into the delicious sauce. This sat on a bed of well seasoned mash and was accompanied by some French beans, wrapped in a parcel by a rasher of tasty bacon, and there were some sweet flavoursome carrots artistically arranged on top. We all cleared our plates and enjoyed every single mouthful.Dessert was a chocolate trio, consisting of a chocolate fondant ( timed perfectly so that the centre was just the right amount of ooziness) , a dark chocolate chip ice cream and a creamy white chocolate mousse, topped with a chocolate dipped raspberry garnish. A chocoholics idea of heaven! A very pleasant carafe of red wine accompanied our meal. My dad and his wife both had a coffee in gorgeous little coffee cups to finish the meal, along with an After Eight each.The whole dining experience was wonderful, from start to finish and was very good value at 30€ per person.Em also sells a wide range of beautiful jewellery and assorted items, which are on display inside her gorgeous house. My daughter was delighted to find several pairs of earrings which she bought as souvenirs and gifts for her friends. Added bonus!I would urge anyone staying in the Riberac/ Verteillac area to make sure to fit in a visit to Em's Cuisine. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Word of mouth brought us to Em's on a glorious, sunny Sunday in the beautiful Dordogne countryside, where we were greeted by our host Andy, who after the initial introductions, provided us with a sparkly apero & tasty hors-d'œuvres. The tables were beautifully laid out under a shady abris which provide views of not only the French countryside but also a pretty, rose filled garden. Emily's menu today began with mushroom bruscheta, followed by slow roasted lamb & trimmings with a yummy ice cream & caramel sauce to finish. Delicious, is an understatement to describe her food but don't take our word for it, go and try for yourselves, you will not be disappointed. The imaginative presentation which Emily & Andy provide adds to the experience. They've given much thought to the fine detail of their business and it shows. We look forward to returning and would without question, recommend you try Em's.

We have been to Em 's Cuisine several times and it just gets better and better. We visited today in a party of 12 family and friends. The food was outstanding!! I'm not a lover of goats cheese, but willing to try more new things, and found to my surprise that the goats cheese starter was lovely. The rest of the meal was fantastic too, the service excellent and friendly as always. The presentation of everything, especially the fruit salad, was first class. Am already booked to return and can't wait. Thank you Emily and Andy.

Do you tell everyone about a wonderful friendly bijoux eatery and run the risk of never being able to book another table? We decided on balance not to be selfish!
