We found this place by "chance" on our first night here and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and impeccable and the food, a modern take on asian cuisine while respecting the authenticity of the flavours is truely special and amazing. We loved our diner so much we had to come back for the Yum Cha banquet which was equally impressive. Fantastic options for vegetarians who are very well catered for. Clearly popular with the locals, i would recommend it to anyone visiting the Sunshine coast!
The night was going well until desert arrived and mine had a baby earwig sitting pride of place. Now these this can happen and the quality of the restaurant can be gauged by how they cope with the situation. They said "sorry". And that was it. They said that the diner (me) seemed OK with it all and they saw no reason to do anything else. There was a large group of us our host spent a small fortune on the banquet, but nadda, nothing, zip, zilch. So I gotta say the earwig left a sour taste!
We came lunchtime Friday for the $36 banquet. 10 courses - 1 piece per course. Lots of food so very good value. Courses included pork sandwich, stuffed eggplant flowers, corn cakes, chicken ribs and a selection of dumplings. The food was high quality but not with a 'wow' factor. Service is first class. Very attentive. We reserved a table. We will return for the afternoon cocktails and mini yum cha!
We treated ourselves to this lovely restaurant upon recommendation from friends. The barramundi was a good choice. The lamb entree and beef mains beautifully presented and very flavoursome. Desserts worth dying for. Service very good and understated. Expensive generally but Wednesdays special a relative bargain. Recommended.
