fab dinner in this restaurant in in inconceivable untourist caldes d’Estrac mins north of barcelona. beautiful decor with pastel-colored glass plates and light, tasty versions of traditional Catalan dresses with local ingredients. like most restaurants it doesn't open until, but if I. invited me in the girl's running restaurant, gave me some water, olives and a menu, then stood for minutes painfully translate it for me. I am here for a few days solo before a press trip in barcelona have rarely felt more comfortable than a woman on herself alone in a really beautiful restaurant. three cures plus coffee olives etc for euro. We had the menu of the day on a week day and came away raving about the food. The chef apparently studied under a famous french chef and it shows. We had a fish dish and a roast chicken dish, both cooked to perfection and...deliciously seasoned. The first plates were unique, very fresh and delicious. Even the desserts, while sounding routine on the menu, were excellent. We plan to go back before we leave. This place was recommended by our B and B hostess and she was spot on. What a treat for such a moderately priced place.
