I was on El Kilo December 31st at night with my wife and son. The place was very nice, great atmosphere, good staff. But I was not happy with our food. We ordered three dishes and I think the only one approved was my son 's...fried fish and chips . I ordered a rice with crabs and it was a very small portion with just the taste of crab, my wife ordered some pasta with seafood and although the sauce was rich, the pasta was still hard. And what disappointed me most was not being able to order sea fish, because the fish they offered was tilapia. Really? Tilapia was the catch of the day? . Besides, at the entrance of the restaurant they put seafood on ice in the window but then offer you the dishes with farmed fish.

Stopped in for lunch. The place has a decent atmosphere but nothing special (the bathrooms were not clean). Service was so-so (poor by Cartagena's high standards as we waited longer for our meal than anywhere else). Had the seafood skewer and a lujosa del mar...which came out as a mix of ceviches on different shells. At around 70K, it was quite expensive and it did not feature a very large amount of seafood. Fancier restaurants with nicer atmospheres in Cartagena were serving the equivalent trios of ceviche for 50K and were better. For the price and quality, there are far better choices nearby.

The plates are really complete and they’re lots of variety. From fried fish to salmon and other types of seafood. The waitress who attended us was very nice and gave us a good recommendation for the plates. Personally, I recommend to try the “Limonada con...Coco” and “Cazuela de Mariscos”, aswell if you want an entrance try the tatakis, especially the one with maracuyá.

Enjoyed the ceviche and the parillada. Two thumbs up!! The staff was friendly and the drinks are really good too. I recommend both the Black Pearl and the White Pearl.
