Well, our first choice for lunch was closed so they could go on vacation. The second place was listed in an article about the classic local pork dish ... which was clearly obvious by the massive line of tourists waiting to eat. Fortunately the waiter gave an honest recommendation to me, sending us to El Figon de los Comuneros. VERY glad he did as the food we got in the daily prix fixe menu was classic but was delicious. And not only was the food and the service good, but the restaurant wasn't swarming with tourists (if I had wanted to be surrounded by Americans instead of locals, I would have stayed in America! . On a brutally hot day, the gazpacho and the sangria were delicious and welcome respite and the pork was falling off the bone!

I arrived recommended by a friend. You dont find multitudinary hordes of tourists like in Candido or Jose Maria. The chef comes to your table and speaks fluently. Nice person. I specially recommend the cattle chuleton that you finish cookim on your table over a stone. Tasty wines. Great desserts. Segovia is one of the most expensive places to eat but this one deserves the visit , and somewhat cheaper than candido or jose maria plus great ambient

The most famous food dishes of Segovia are the Roasted suckling pig (in a clay oven) and the large beans with sausage, pigs ear and black pudding which is like a soup. This restaurant has a very high rating with Trip Advisor, there are other restaurants that are more famous but with not so good reviews. This restaurant is well worth the visit (you have to reserve). Have the beans and Cochinillo (baby suckling pig)
