Moved to the area recently and very quickly fell in love with the George; it 's a great little historical pub with a lovely selection of beers and ales, a nice atmosphere and attached to a Thai restaurant However, very recently my friends and I came in for a few drinks and some food, and found the food had dropped significantly in quality. This wasn 't a huge issue as we raised this with one of the women at the bar who, upon being told the food didn 't taste seasoned, proceeded to tell us this isn 't a restaurant followed by that 's just how it 's made . The same member of staff is also always very standoffish at the bar, seems to always be miserable and makes ordering very awkward, which is a shame because her colleague seems to be super sweet, welcoming and chatty. I understand a workplace environment can R daunting, but this person seems to have no manners at all and is actively off-putting. My friends and I have since decided to move our regular pub and no loner go to the George.
