On a day-trip to Hamilton and wanted a vegan meal - very happy to have found Democracy! A friend and I shared the Cauliflower wings in Apple-garlic sauce; I had the quinoa-black bean bowl and my friend had the BBQ Tofu Sandwich. Everything tasted great; and I would come again - it was worth the drive to Hamilton! Interesting space and friendly, helpful staff. A couple of points for improvement...it was a cold day and the restaurant was very cold - had to leave my coat on to eat - the slate table was cold to the touch. Also, menu relies heavily on a deep fryer - delicious but not healthy. The Wings were amazing, but with a big order, battered and fried and a hefty pricetag, I would have preferred a half-order option. That said, the food was good and I'll visit again.
The cauliflower wings were amazing. The sauce had the perfect heat with the cashew cream on the side. The mushroom Calzone fills you up, the sweetness of the bourbon bbq sauce with the tender mushroom blend melts in your mouth. Nice desert selection. Vegan heaven.
Love this little spot!! We come to Hamilton every now and then and always make a stop here for amazing creative vegan food. Nice draught selection and incredible coffees. Great job guys!!!
Had dinner here for Mother's Day, really enjoyed it and love the atmosphere. The food was very delicious and the service was very friendly!
