Last Christmas we went to the Hotel el Prado Restaurant to have a special meal. It was 25 December. We were a group of 6 people and 5 of us choose the special Christmas Menu, which consisted of 3 traditional Christmas plates: Caldo, carn d'olla and gall dindi , followed by desserts. It took the waiters a long time to serve the dishes, which was not their fault, given the fact that the restaurant is quite big and was full of people. The complain is just about the awful quality of the food served: the soup and the carn d'olla were pretty tasteless, but you could still eat them. The turkey (gall dindi) was quite simply the worst I've ever had.. completely tasteless and dry, to the point that it was a pain to chew and swallow it. Obviously it had been reheated and no care at all had been put to soften it a little bit to make it more palatable. A complete rip-off given the cost of the menu. The only acceptable plate was the dessert. One of us choosed a normal menu instead of the special one. He was a little bit luckier, though the lamb was equally dry and tasteless. For a nice place like this, and for such a special day, it's totally unacceptable to serve an expensive menu of such bad quality. Can't recommend it at all.

Friendly staff the waiter and I eventually settled on French as the common language. He also apologised for the two empty dining rooms, as I had arrived rather early according to Spanish dining custom. That was ok I got served first and had plenty of time to people watch as other guest gradually arrived! Good choice of menu based on local cuisine. A fixed price menu available for 3 courses wine and coffee extra but good value even so. They served my favourite regional dessert crema catalana go for it!

Please see my review under the hotel section as I was unable to find the listing under restaurants when I looked. I probably had too many filters on. If I can find a way of editing and copying the text across I will do so. For now please find the review under hotels. You will not be disappointed if you eat here.

We had 2 mains, that didn't take too long to prepare, this 3 course meal was so very nice. The desert of creme brûlée, even though it was not on the menu. Delightful.
