What a pleasure. The search for decent Mexican food is generally extremely difficult in the northeast, and especially Rhode Island. It is uniformly moderate, often filled with indifferent fried beans or decorated in creams and sauces to dress the lack of taste, texture and character. Condesa is a refreshing alternative. We were attracted by the vegetarian friendly menu. Several articles are vegan marked, and they mean it: even the items that are vegetarian, but have (a bit of cream or cheese are not labeled vegan. This kind of attention to detail and honesty tells you something positive about the people who lead the place. (There are more Veg dishes on the restaurant menu than online, as this letter. The restaurant itself is clean and pleasant, and the mood is definitely a small bit up, with tasteful place settings and evocative art. Start with chips and salsa can be difficult for a restaurant, because although customers expect it when the salsas do not impress, everything else is suspected. Their four salsas were pretty good: a bean, a tipica, a tomatillo and a hotter chipotle. While no anaesthesia was, all four held their own, making high expectations of the head. The veggie enchiladas and tacos met these expectations. The taste was subtle, the size was decent (not overwhelming again, not filled with indifferent beans, and the food was plated with a nice take on the traditional with rice and beans. There are several dishes we wanted to try. A vegetarian wheat berry ceviche? The interesting Quinoa ensalada? The Happy Hour Appetizer menu also seemed to have something. That said the black bean soup had too many banging flavors and was a little watery (although some Mexican sopas can indeed be casual, so I would give it. In addition, the staff were all friendly and pleasant, from maitre d' to waitress. Not too urgent, come with just the right frequency, friendly while it is professional. I also had a jalapeno margarita. That was a bit disappointing: I expected more fire in the drink, but the Jalapeno floated on his own missing bite. I should have gotten something else. There was a decent selection of Mexican liqueur on the menu. Is that really five stars? Maybe four stars. But most Mexican places are so indifferent that to this in a stripe shopping center in Smithfield RI deserves additional credit. (Well, five stars in *my* book, but HappyCow maxes at 4 for not all Veg. Updated by previous review on 2017 11 05

Has vegan options, but they are moderate. I have the poblano tacos, and while the portions are large, the veggie tacos are quite unobtrusive. It is just a half-cooked large piece of vegetables in a maizestortilla with one side of rice and beans. My non-vegan friend also got Steak-Tacos and was unimpressed. I saw a review that the food was authentic, but I found that not true. salsa and guac were good, tasted chips as though they were unfortunately bought.

We had 4 different vegan ducks and the big portions were all the first rate. The Guac is excellent 3 out of 4 of us agreed, it's the best we ever had! And the free hot bean dive, salsas and chips was a real treat. Regular and exotic margaritas (comfortable bar) were generous and high-quality drinks. All in all, an excellent meal at a reasonable (not cheap) price. I recommend it.

Food was okay. I really hated the over-use of the three cheese blend. It was in both the Quesadilla and the Queso Fundido. I believe it would have been better with a white cheese. The waiter was extremely inattentive and never once asked how the food was. Overall, this restaurant really missed the mark for me. Not recommending this place. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5
