In this famous restaurant you can finally understand why the chefs of the best institutions of the world are given a Michelin star. The local chief Pierre Gagniere, who has three of them, is known throughout France. In his metropolitan institution queues are built. In Saint-Tropez, the excitement is less. But the menu here is no different from Paris. Among delicacies - fricassee from lobster with basil, tomato puree and gherkins and incredible desserts.To discover the culinary masterpieces of the master and appreciate the strange, but harmonious combination of taste, texture and color of ingredients, come to St.-Tropez from everywhere. Visiting a renowned restaurant can be an exciting adventure, especially for gourmets.The restaurant is named after the famous French writer Sidoni Gabriel Colette, adored by the French. In 1925 she settled in Saint-Tropez, not far from the place where the restaurant is today.
The restaurant is set beside the swimming pool on the terrace.It is superb on a spring evening watching the sunset and sipping champagne.We had the set menu which consisted of +/-6 courses (I lost track) . Everything was amazing, tasty, fresh, so well flavored and unique. ( if you are allergic or don't eat a certain food they will substitute for you) . Every dish was unique and consisted of fish, seafood and game. It was all superb. The desserts were delicious, and by this time it was a bit chilly out, they brought me a pled... which was wonderfully warm. The music was soft and romantic... the service was 5 star all the way. Even the car valets are so polite! We had an amazing evening.
We decided upon Colette because it was recommended in the Michelin guide and was close to where we were staying. We didn't want to dive into the tourist bistros along the waterfront. What luck to find a lounge bar atmosphere wrapped around a first class restaurant with excellent grilled meats and the friendliest staff. The restaurant is to one side of a pool/bar area with a DJ providing well-chosen lounge music played at a volume that doesn't interfere with conversation.Our thanks to the team, including the maitre d'hotel and our server, Manon, whose easy demeanor combined with absolute professionalism made the evening an effortless pleasure.
This nice restaurant is located at the beautiful Sezz hotel, just outside the city.Starters were delicious and refined (shrimp ceasar salad, red pepper carpaccio). The main courses were also delicious and tender (beef from their outside BBQ).The french fries were horrible though (soft and sticky).Choice of some great wines as well.Relaxed evening outside, next to the pool.
