I booked a table a few days before , asking for an outside table because I was taking my dog and wanted to sit outside with him. Upon arrival I was told the table was inside (very hot for us and the dog) and that tables could not be booked outside. An email or phone call would have been nice as we would not have gone there as we didn’t want to sit inside. It took 15 minutes to get a drink! then a further 15 minutes to order food, at which point we were thinking of leaving. The person at the bar said she couldn’t take a food order because she was new to the role. She then served six more people for drinks and didn’t get anyone to serve me for food. I had to ask another member of staff when they were free. Food average, certainly nothing special. Staff not terribly friendly. Would not visit again or recommend to anyone. The venue relies solely on its riverside location but not much use if it can’t be enjoyed if you want to prebook for food. On the whole a poor experience and a disappointment to celebrate my birthday.
Really pleasantly surprised. I haven't been inside the venue since before lockdown. The makeover, update and enticing outside area are all delightful. The atmosphere inside was friendly, relaxing and comfortable. Decor is fabulous (sadly, the Chesterfield wouldn't fit into my bag! On a serious note, we had specific disablility needs, which were well catered for. Dog friendly (another essential requirement for our party) and the gravy bones on the bar were a lovely touch. Will definitely return and will definutely recommend to others. I think we were all left feeling that we were valued customers. Thanks for a lovely venue, great service and tasty, well cooked and well presented meals.
Welcomed as soon as we walked though the door and taken to our table despite being early for our booking . The barmen was very friendly and polite when we placed our order . We had visited to redeem a voucher gifted to us that included a bottle of wine. However as we were both driving it was a nice touch to have two soft drinks without it costing anything extra . The quality of the food was really good ,especially the hunters chicken . The waiting staff were attentive and you weren’t left with empty plates for longer than necessary before they enquired if you had finished and took them out of your way . The overall atmosphere was really chilled out and enjoyable .
Lovely pub with a beautiful outside area at the side of the river. The staff were very friendly. even taking time to fetch water and treats for our dog, we enjoyed our time there. The food was very average but reasonably price.
