We have eaten here countless times before but haven't been in for a few months. In the past it has been great but this visit was very disappointing. We ordered our food, one of which was chicken soup. It arrived and was so salty it couldn't be eaten as well as being an unappetizing brown colour. The waiter agreed to change it for the vege option which was squash and carrot with coriander. It looked identical to the first soup, a sludgy brown colour, and it came without the bread, I had to chase the waiter to ask for the bread as he'd put the soup down and gone. We then had a debate about how they thought we'd had bread with the previous bowl, we had, it was taken with the soup being on the same plate. Waiter was very good, brought the bread. The soup was the same, so salty it couldn't be eaten. The panini was distinctly average. Such a shame as every other meal we've had here the food and service has been spot on, so the question is what has changed in the last few months?
Had the buttermilk chicken and it was not nice at all. Very dry and I have had buttermilk chicken many times in other restaurants and this is the only place that makes it more like a schnitzel and with a taste of curry amd very dry breadcrumb sort of covering. Nothing was mention about curry just a spice which there are many spices. Will not be visiting this place again as the meals are not cheap!!
My only go to spot for breakfast when visiting Grantham, 2 or 3 times a year. Great friendly service, attentive staff and excellent food, the lounge eggs with spinach and mushroom cooked to perfection. See you tomorrow morning
A lovely restaurant with a varied menu. Food was very tasty and the service was excellent. One of the party had a good allergy and the restaurant was fantastic sorting out dishes for them. We will be back
