Honestly, haven?t had a dinner like this in a long time. Visiting from NY just taste Charleston. Seen this place on YouTube somewhere, and multiple locals raved about it. My experience far exceeded my expectations. Kate, our server was awesome. Sat at the bar, and chef was dope too! Got to watch everything be cooked, and enjoyed 3 different types of oysters. Now Let?s talk about the bread?phenomenal, like I?d buy that and take it back to NY. The Royal red shrimp was A1.Shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was delicious. Even if you?re not into sweets, you must try the Fried chicken ice cream! (Honorable mention to the China, cutlery, and the Bathroom! Man it smelled great in there. I?ve never saidthat about a restaurant) chubbies is the ish. 10/10 highly recommend.
Can't say enough good things about this place! It is great to experience, boss James London brings his culinary vision to reality. The expectations were high and Chubby Fish has certainly delivered... cobia tataki, flounder crudo, octopus salad, chili shrimps, grilled snapper, roasted flounder, mackerel curry, oatmeal blueberry ice cream sandwich, and not roasted chicken waffle ice cream... keep the fresh flavors and come mixed with funny surprises of cannon... Large rosé wines (loved the Sancerre). Can't wait to come back (again and again)!
First time trying out Chubby Fish and to our surprise it was amazing. We enjoyed the comfy environment and the hospitality of the restaurant. The food was amazing, definitely worth trying if you?re into seafood. Although the portions are small and a bit on the pricey side the taste and flavor was worth it. If you like trying out small tapas style/sharing dishes this is the place to try out.
Fantastic food and service! We ordered from our waiter recommendations and were not disappointed - oysters, tomato bread, smoked mackerel cure, whole snapper and waffle were all delicious. We enjoyed sitting at the kitchen bar and hearing how all meals are prepared. Great new place in Charleston! I can't wait to go back.
