We first came to Chez Marguerite when we came to Oingt to discover one of the most charming villages of France. It really is charming. And the view of the valley below if just gorgeous. We stopped for lunch the first time and it was just lovely. We had an assortment of salads since it was so hot. And the bonus was I was offered a straw hat to sue while eating on the terrace because it was so sunny and I hadn't thought to bring one. Nice attention to detail.We came back the next evening because we wanted to start by having a drink on the back terrace overlooking the vineyards then follow it with dinner. Tables out there are clearly sought-after but we snagged one. Getting our drinks was little slow and we finally had to go back inside and get them ourselves. But no matter, they were busy and it was fine. Our reserved table was waiting for us after soaking in the scenery.The menu isn't very extensive but everything is very fresh. The "assiette légumes" is perfect in the hot weather.Prices are very reasonable. Dinner for 2 with rosé and saucisson for apéritif was a mere 61€. I look forward to coming back to the region and won't hesitate to come back to Chez Marguerite.
We have been to village of Oingt few times in the past and we never noticed this place. We finally discovered it late April when 4 of us decided to have lunch there. Restaurant was very busy and we were lucky to get table since someone just left. Service looked like they were rather overwhelmed with orders and amount of customers but we did not have to wait too long for our dishes to arrive. Everything was fresh and beautifully arranged on plates, from vegetables, meat up to desserts. We also ordered red wine to accompany our lunch and bill wasn't as much as we expected it to be. You definitely pay a bit more for fresh products, cosy atmosphere and view if you are lucky with weather and able to sit on their terrace. Waiter was very helpful even with our limited French he patiently translated dishes and explained parts of the menu we did not understand. We all agreed we will be back and try other dishes on the menu.
We went to the village of Ouvert which is the most beautiful place, we had dinner in Chez Marguerite great location superb food friendly staff, seating there eating and drinking with a view of the entrance to the village fantastic, a great place to visit if your in the area.
The staff in this bar is very unpolite. We do not recommend this restaurant. But the view is Nice, if you are Willing to rudeness with it
