Mimizan Plage appeared to have closed for Winter. Wanting to share a meal with our German friends we decided to look for a suitable location and suited to our eclectic taste in food. Chez Jean Paul seemed ideal. Pizza for me, seafood for my wife and veal or beef for our friends. A warm welcome from this family run establishment with drinks followed by exceptional food for us all. My calzone was superb and my wife had baby squid and mussel pasta, excellent. Our friends spoke of superb food also. Dessert was just as good. A superb visit to a welcoming restaurant to be repeated next week.
So good we had to visit twice in a row. Very friendly, and between our poor French and their good English. We could order everything we needed. The food its self is excellent, fresh and relatively quick service. Even on the first night, when the waiters were clearly over run, one of the chefs could see we were needing service and came running over. Highly recommended. The long queues says it all. Arrive before 19:30 to eat in le jardin.
I´d go there every day if i could.....yes it´s crowded in summer.. but the food is always awesome....Moules, Daily Dishes, Meat, the tartare......chose what you will it´s perfect!!!!!!
