"Had breakfast here one day was OK. Good coffee and croissant but the orange juice was a bit 'carton ' (if you see what I mean)."

Staying in Paris and went to Chez Gustave for our meal tonight, Nice meal great staff until we asked for the bill. The female staff member insisted her eftpos was not working and told us to go to atm. On our return we gave her Eu100 for our Eu64 bill. She then said “enjoy Paris’ and moved away from our table. We waited on Eu36 but no avail until we went inside and requested our change. She said we gave her Eu36 as a tip. We asked for our change and she proceeded to go into her bag to give us the money, Please do not try to rip off the tourists. She would have received a small tip of she had been honest.

We chose this place as it was lively and seemed to be popular with the locals. We were lucky to get a table even though it was only a Tuesday evening! We ordered onion soup to start, which was a manageable portion. I often find it's more of a main course size though it's only offered as a starter in most places. We were both feeling like trying something new; I settled on the steak tartare and my friend the gravalax. The food was lovely and well presented. The waiter explained how to use the condiments with my starter and was very helpful. Really enjoyable meal.

If you're looking for a nice spot to eat near Eiffel Tower, do yourself a favor and carry on looking. The dishes were simply disappointing, the Crème brûlée cold and gummy. Probably prepared the day before and sold to ignorant tourists. The waiter, indeed, was unfriendly and ended up deciding himself how much tip he'd get by just handing us out less change than required. To sum it all up, it's really lousy!

We ate here as it was close to where we were staying. The food was good and my daughter particuarly liked the chicken from the tapas menu, we just told her they were chicken nuggets!
