On our way back to Netherlands from Autria we stopped in Essen to grab a bite to eat. Since Cavos was valued a very good in Tripadvisory we decided to try the restaurant and are extremely happy we did so. Cavos is not a typical...Greek restaurant where you get gyros or a grill platter. Cavos serves fresh and tasty food on a higher level. The service was also perfect. The waiter spoke with passion and the chef eventually also stopped by our table which was a nice touch. For glasses of wine, starters, main courses and espresso and some waiter the bill was A little more than your typical german restaurant, but it is worth every penny
Placed on the shore of the Ruhr-River, there is a nice terrace for summer days. A lot of space and natural light in the restaurant. Very friendly and helpful stuff. The dishes are fine and well prepared. Wide choise of the meals from the mediterranian cuisine, large and good wine list. Try the greek one they recommend - really tasty! All in one - good place to have fine dinner with friends/family because of the nice location and food.Also parking in front of the door!
Have been there for a dinner. The ambience is really nice, facilities very clean. In the summer there is a great deck right on the Baldney Lake. The menu is small but very fine, EuropeanGreek fusion cuisine. Definitely not your average Greek restaurant with fries...and lots of grilled meet. Instead a fine selection of meet and fish, very good selection of wines. Very nice amiable and attentive service. I give it highest recommendations
Horrible service and average food. Booked an outside table near the water weeks in advance and was placed inside. Food was mediocre at best. Lamb and horrible, glutinous potatoes. Didn’t know this was Greek??? Service was horrible. Waited minutes before drink order. before food order. Horrible. Will not be back
