We had just come from Fort Bravo and were looking for a place to eat a menu del dia. Our expectations were low as we headed south toward Almeria and the A7. We got off the motor way and drove down the N340 hoping to find someplace to eat. We try to use the car test to help us find a restaurant. If there are a lot of cars in the lot, it must be either good, cheap, or both good and cheap. We had to park across the main road because the lot was so full of cars. Casa Rafael looks very impressive from the outside with many areas to hold outdoor events. The inside was spacious and and attractively decorated. It looked like it would be very expensive with cloth tablecloths with many people in business attire and virtually no one in tradesmen cloths. We were so surprised that the menu del dia was just 12 euros. The 3 course meal with rolls rather than sliced bread and excellent wine was one of the best menu del dias we have ever had. My wife's estafada and my cold seafood salad with calmari and mussels were extraordinary. The desserts were delicious and beautifully presented. We look forward to going back again.
The grounds and the restaurant building were charming. The food was amazing value for money 12 euros per head for three courses, plus rolls and wine. There were about five choices for each course and all were beautifully presented. The service was so slick and professional. After we were able to enjoy a coffee out on the sunny terrace. We will definitely to going here again when we next visit our relatives in the area.
We had the 12 euro 3-course menu and it was one of the best we have had in the area. The quality of, the ingredients is excellent, the choice wide, the service very good, the surroundings comfortable and the value for money second to none. We will definitely eat there again.
Estamos en la boda de Juan y Rosa, y la comida ha sido muy buena, especialmente la de la cena, pero me gustaría destacar la amabilidad del camarero de nuestra mesa y su buen trato y saber hacer. Estábamos en la mesa 2, felicidades! Muy recomendable!
