We went hiking in the area, and having finished at 6.30pm we started looking for a restaurant for an early dinner. Virtually all of the restaurants in La Laguna, and Santa Cruz for that matter, were serving from 8pm. This was surprisingly open all day...and surprisingly good!! We were the only guests at that time and we could enjoy their lovely view. The food was excellent: we had soups, chickpea stew, veal stew, grilled squid, salad Canarian potatoes all of it was lovely, tasty without being too salty (which is a common feature in Tenerife... , it came quickly and the staff was absolutely lovely. We hike a lot around here and this will be our to go place! The bill came to 50€, with drinks. Amazing value as well.

We stopped there on the way to Anaga and I really liked some small dishes we chose *the whole menu looked much more Canarian to me than in 90% of the restaurants. Coffee was great and a nut desert was very unusual and tasty. The only disappointment was that we expected to have dinner there after Anaga, but the guys closed at 17 as it was Monday. But i really recommend at least a small meal there

Stopped here for lunch both having grilled squid; was acceptable with a large portion but very tough. Red and green Canaries salsa made it acceptable as was the extremely nice warm bread rolls. Other than that not much 'to write home about '. Only two other tables occupied so maybe that tells you something about the place. Would not recommend.

We only stopped for an ice cream on the way to the mountain. But we had a quick look inside the restaurant (where the birds sang) and in the back room where the tapas bar was. The staff was super friendly and helpful. What a lovely place located just on the edge of Las Mercedes.
