We have a reservation for 6:45 and have been confirmed. We're in time, but there were no hosts at the door, so we waited. About 10 minutes later another party came for 4 with only 2 of them there, the hostess showed up and sat them first. Not a big thing, maybe they got a table ready for our party of 2 but it would have been nice to know that instead of being ignored? I have on the table and it is a nice ambience for a romantic night out, but the bread was just a simple white bread that you can get anywhere and didn't even taste fresh, no special spread for the bread simply butter. Then the salad was fine, nothing great. The red sauce with the meatball appetizer was particularly sweet, but edible. The most important courses were very bland for both of us - the Alfredo tasted like it came out of a glass and the chicken that I added to my fetters was a very strange texture (so soft and flakey that do not taste as I expect chicken at all, more like tuna texture without the tuna taste). For the price we spent, I expected a lot more impressive, tasteful food. I wouldn't come back here. ?

I'm surprised how disgusting everything was. My husband and I ordered crabcakes, garlic cheese bread, chicken spiedini julian, and chicken parm. Everything was bland and something tasted above all the lack of taste. The cheese was all melted in a plastic film on bread and parm. The alfredo sauce used for the julian tasted like warm, thick heavy peat cream and nothing else. They gave us a whole bread as if they apologise for how bad everything was. The chicken from the julian was okay, but I scratched the sauce because I just don't like it. I couldn't go beyond two bites of the crab cake, and I just went for the second bite because I was shocked how it was gone. I know we're on the coast, but come on. I ate what I could. I gave a star to my husband... he loved the bread we received!

Visited this establishment for the first time. Our party was seated relatively quick for the size of our group. The waiter (Sean) was very attentive making many passes by our group to check on our status and make sure we had everything we needed. The timing of our order from salad to entree was very good. Carmen's Cafe likes garlic however done tastefully, just keep a mint on hand post meal. Service was excellent but would have really enjoyed garlic bread of some type with my meal. All meals received good reviews all around the table. Portion size was good as well, everyone had a little to take home.

We spoke to Carmen for our anniversary dinner and I have to say that it was a GREAT experience. We had a reservation and could sit early. Ray, our server, was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. He recommended the Pistachio Torte and it was AMAZING! Ray made this a pleasant experience and food and deserves a lot of praise! Wonderful food and ambience 10/10 recommend!
