The service, décor, and food was much less than when we believe this restaurant is capable of. This was a special occasion; however, our table location was anything but special. It seemed like our table was added on and almost in the isles. It was quite busy with the staff constantly rushing by. We felt a quite booth or better table placement would have been in order. Our waiter, Chris, seemed good at the beginning, but we never saw him after our main meal was delivered until he delivered our check. We were looking around for him to notice us several times, but he was more concerned about other tables. This was especially true after we were finished and were thinking about desert. By the time he did come back to our table, we decided on a quick coffee and our check. My wife's filet was very good; however, my ribeye was substandard. There was far too much grissel running through it, most of which my steak knife would not cut through even after several tries. I ate half of it and gave up. Frankly, we have had better steaks and service at Longhorns and Texas Roadhouse. Carlos and Johnny's WAS our favorite place to go to have a special meal. After this experience, I am thinking that Mortons or Ruth's Chris may be in our future. I do not believe that this was a good experience for the that I spent that evening. Please understand that it is not about the cost, as we can easily afford fine dining experiences several times a week if we care to eat out that much. We have dinned at Jeff Ruby restaurants many times, but this is the first time that I felt that the food and service was not excellent. I do not see us recommending Jeff Ruby in the future if the dinning experience has fallen to this low standard. Note: I still tipped our waiter a decent tip, but since then I realize that I should have given less and maybe taught him a lesson
