I’m not somebody who usually writes a review, but after visiting this pub tonight I felt like I had to warn people about the place after being discriminated on my appearance which was obvious that I was not from the area with my physical appearance and accent. As arriving to the pub me and my Pregant partner wanted a nice tea after having a long day travelling and as entering the car park there was one visible vehicle on the car park, so we wasn’t sure if it was even open .. as entering we asked a very rude abrupt women about a table for food and she instantly responded “no available tables” even though there was on 2 visible men drinking a pint and then we was dismissed. So upsetting for my pregnant partner who was hungry and feeling tired, we then had to travel 12 miles to the next available pub we could find.
After a day of travelling me, my partner, sister in law her partner wanted to go somewhere nice for tea. When we arrived there was 1 vehicle on the car park so we wasn’t sure if the restaurant was open. We asked for a table of 4 and was told there wasn’t any room for us that it was bookings only, we could clearly see the restaurant was empty as there was only 2 gentlemen at the bar having a drink. I think the lady behind the bar, took one look at me my family realised we wasn’t from the area so we didn’t receive a friendly response. I won’t be coming here again wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Called in o Saturday evening with the kids for a meal and was told booking only, I asked if I could book and was told no, if it had been busy I would understand, That’s 6 meals and serval drinks later they lost out on but I suppose £300 is nothing to a pub these days, Staff weren’t introduced
Often stop here on the way back home from the coast, food is always lovely and always a warm welcome
