The WORST HOSPITALITY! We moved to Hampton Bays last summer went to Canal Cafe many times. It was always a ?take out order? and ?self seat? on the outdoor deck. Today we ordered in advance as usual but when we arrived at the restaurant the hostess Dawn, would not let us sit anywhere to eat. Apparently the ?COVID RULES ARE OVER and deck seating is ?full service?. She would not even consider a one time exception even though it was OFF HOURS (2pm) MIDWEEK and not highseason yet! MANY TABLES WERE EMPTY (see pics) but she still REFUSED TO LET US SiT. Even though we had spent $60 on lunch and will know their new seating rules for the future but DAWN would not let us stay to eat. We WILL NEVER RETURNto Canal Cafe this summer or any summer! Canal Cafe lost our family friends as customers today! TERRIBLE HOSPITALITY!!!
Came here on a weekday in the summer waited just about 10 mins to be seated. Service was on point and very friendly. Expect the wait times to be longer on weekends. The food was excellent! Its right along the shore of the canal so it has a great view. You can even see the peconic bay and the north fork! Some reviewers are complaining about the use of plastic forks and paper plates. WHO CARES!? As long as the food is good it's not a formal fancy place. It's a kind of placewhere you can wear shorts
the food all around was amazing! the view is spectacular. I am thankful we were referred this restaurant and every time we visit the Hamptons it will be our 1st stop. I can taste those wings and lobster roll as I type this review. The drinks were amazing too. The spicy tequilla drink (can't remember the name they had for it) was on point.
This is the perfect spot, fantastic fresh sea food ! Great Cocktails Lovely ambience sat beside the Yachts. A little gem. You really must give this lovely place a try. You won?t be disappointed.
