Cajun Roux Grill

Let me start by saying that the service we received at Cajun Roux was some of the worst service I’ve ever received from any restaurant. To start off, when my family and I were seated , our server never once introduced herself. When asking for her opinions and recommendations we received nothing , as if she’d never tried anything off the menu. Moreover , when it was time for us to order we were very rushed through the entire process. While in the ordering process my younger sister gets confused and asks for an extra side of fries; being that our server was so short with us she took that request and returned to the back so quickly that she was unable to hear us when trying to get her attention to remove it before putting it in the system. As soon as she returned to the table with the fries , before even placing them down we explained that there was a mistake and we tried to get her attention before she had a chance to enter it in the system. She informed us that the restaurant has a “no removal, no refund” policy despite the food never being touched. When a manager was requested , we were able to speak with a young, female, manager who was very rude, informing us that Cajun roux has a no refund policy , despite the food never being touched and despite the fact that if the server was a little more attentive she would have noticed we were trying to get her attention, it isn’t like we were able to call her name , as she never introduced herself to us. Cajun Roux is a restaurant that clearly has very greedy owners that allow their staff and managers to believe making money is most important than customer satisfaction. As someone visiting from out of town, this restaurant is in a lane of its own when it comes to terrible service.

This food...omg this food. The restaurant was too dark for me to take a photo, and it was a bit loud. But yall, this food. It was so good. My fish was a tad on the salty side, but it was still delicious. The grilled asparagus was quite nice as well. Highly recommend the fried green tomato starter.Also, the service. Morgan was our server, and i am not sure we could have gotten anyone better. Morgan had great recommendations and was attentive.My one gripe is the perpetuation of the tip shaming at the front. A sign that says, If you can 't afford at least a 20% tip, then Cajun Roux is not for you, is a bit off-putting, though i know folks dont tip 20% sometimes. I would never go to a restaurant if i couldn 't handle at least a 20% tip. I 'd even go to a restaurant if i knew the 20% tip was included in the end total, and servers like Morgan would STILL get a tip on top of that. I guess it just sends the message that we know some of yall wont tip at least 20%, and we certainly won 't pay more than we have to, so its up to you, customers, to take care of our employees. At the end of the day, the food was fantastic, the service was amazing, and the sign was abrasive. It 's worth going to eat there.

Excellent cuisine. Calamari was crispy, light, tender. Grilled Parmesan oysters were full of flavor filling. Blackened redfish was fresh, not over-seasoned, I'm pretty discerning, too. Kudos to the chef staff!

The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Our server was very pleasant and friendly and did an excellent job.Thanks again for a great experience.
