Having been a regular customer at Cafe V8 I was hoping for better today. The counter assistant was too engrossed in her conversation with a friend and drinking a can of juice to realise that I and another customer were waiting to be served. The lady ahead of me gave up and left. I persevered thinking , 'Oh well I 've waited this long..... ' but when I was eventually asked what I was waiting for and explained that I hadn 't yet been served, I was still ignored. Seemed pointless waiting after that. It would take a lot to persuade me to go back.
Usually good, today however was terrible. Twenty minutes for soup to arrive and fifty minutes for the main. We had to chase up our order, when it did eventually arrive on apologies. Food was cold and inedible. We were in the grill area and everyone was complaining about how cold the place was, it was absolutely Baltic.
Ordered a mega box at 9:20, took longer than 2 hours to arrive. Tried phoning the restaurant to find out why it was taking so long, only to be hung up on before anyone answered.
Absolutely excellent food. Tasty and well cooked, plenty of choice on the menu. Note: a hot curry is a real hot curry just as it should be. Well recommended.
