This is by far the best bakery in the area and my favorite bakery that I was happy enough to visit in Germany. It's fucked away in the storybook city of Bernkastel and the sight of chocolate truffles in the window is sure to put you in. You have all traditional German cakes, what I suggest: your special truffles - rich, smooth and creamy. You can't go wrong. Add Riesling makes her better. Applestrudel: warm, gooey and tasty! The best I had in Germany. Sacher Torte: The jam in the middle was perfect to cut the dense chocolate taste. Black Forest Cake: You just can't go wrong with the cherry, chocolate and light cream combination. Ice cream I was addicted to this after the order, which I thought was coffee with ice cream, but received pots from Gelato, abused in espresso and lovingly covered with unsweetened whipped cream. A total of ten on size. I wish I could have lived in Bernkastel so I could continue my two-day ritual of the visit to bakery.
It is a pastry shop in the middle of the city square.The location is excellent to sit outside but the seats are so few that one has to be lucky to find a spot. The interior is very dark and some lights might be useful to align with the cheerful exterior. They have a lot of variety of cakes which are on display in the shop. One has to order at the cake counter and then the food is brought to the table. I ordered Sachertorte and tea. The Assam tea that I ordered was good quality. When I went to order my cake, there was some kind of bumblebees or bees perhaps roaming inside the cake shelves. I pointed out to the lady there but she did not seem much bothered about it.
We ordered 2 x espresso total price 4.80 € and 1 plunder apple 2.30 € and 1 plunder nut 2.30 €.Good quality of coffee and delicious freshly prepared pastries. We recommend this place.
Beautiful café with great cake selection and friendly service but also a bit expensive for this very delicious cake!
