Taken by our relatives no substitute for local knowledge and boy was it good. Apart from the obligatory bread with olive oil 'starter ' we ordered 4 different tapas to share for what amounted to a late lunch. From beef chunks to crispy calamari all cooked especially for us as we were so late, it was delightful. The owner, wife and chef were all looking after us and the hospitality was superb in totally underwhelming surroundings. One soon learns in Spain not to judge a place by it 's outside appearance or the immediate area. At 43 Euros including drinks and coffees, you should take the trouble to find this place.
We've eaten here many times in the past, i can't say a bad word about the place. During a recent visit we had a really good meal again, the pork fillets were great, and no frozen chips in here, you get the real hand-cut chips. Service was very good as usual. Very good food, great value for money. Do check out their opening hours though before travelling , and if you are actually in Catral,their hours are displayed in the window.
I have been here on numerous occasions for lunch and it is always perfect. The food is cooked to order and is very good quality. A three course lunch between 1pm and 3pm 8E . The restaurant is kept spotless and appears to be run by a family.
We have passed this place many times over the last 4 years and never thought to go in. But on recommendation today we did. Very nice menu de dia at 7 euros for 2 course meal and drink and good service. Will definitely be going back. Gracias.
