Having seen a lake shown on the satnav yet not visible from the road, we pulled into a rough parking area, and clambered up onto a wall to see a lovely man made lake. The far side had a campsite on it with bits of beach and people in the water but this side was tranquil.Walking along the top of the wall round the corner we came across cafe du Lac. In truth it doesn't look the most preprocessing of places but the tables overlooking the lake seemed just right. Nothing too heavy needed on a hot lunchtime so salads seemed like a good idea.Mine a fruit de mer came with 3 stunning gambas on the top with smoked salmon and mussels in a cream sauce with pastis, while my other halves Thai salad was served in a thin biscuity basket with rice, prawns, corgette, cabbage and diced carrot in a lovely Thai style dressing.Flavours were great, portion size was large and overall value for money good. Lots of young waiters on hand and although the place itself looks a bit run down the food was pretty good. Pictures attached but for what we had it certainly did the job !!!! It's a bit out of the way and very easy to miss but if you do find it and want something simple and light for lunch give them a go!
