"We were at the hotel and the restaurant was busy, a good sign, so we gave it a try. The antipasto was very good. I enjoyed linguine with shrimps for the main course, along with a bottle of local spatburgander read wine. Very nice. Service was very good and fast, although it was a large group of Diners. There seems to be a lot of Italians in this small wine town, and we certainly enjoyed ourselves in this restaurant."

I do not normally file poor reviews but was so very disappointed by everything that I feel compelled to say something. It might have been an off day though and I do like to be fair so these are our experiences on the day.We were on holiday as a family group. With two of the group slightly disabled my husband and I had done some research earlier in the day to save a lot of walking about later. We went by the restaurant and spoke to the chef owner. We were impressed with his obvious passion and decided to come back that evening with the family. We had a lovely table outside with a wonderful view of the vines running up the hills. The menu looked good and we all decided what we fancied. Drinks were ordered and eventually arrived. Food was ordered also eventually and with a good deal of indicating on the menu but we were on holiday and relaxed. We should have been a bit concerned when the waiter came out twice to check what I had ordered. Our ordered starters arrived shortly followed by another load of starters that should have been delivered to another table. We sent that on its correct destination.A long wait for main course but we looked forward to freshly cooked food. Oh dear!!We could have forgiven the waiter forgetting the spoon for the fish soup and the bowl for the empty shells. We were slightly amused at more food and drink being delivered in error to our table. The lukewarm steak could have been better. Prawns had neither sauce nor garlic - waiter had not checked which option but one or the other would have been acceptable. Wiener schnitzel coated with what looked like scrambled egg was particularly unappetising. We waited for my meal - waiter checked again what I had ordered. I asked the others to carry on eating. Waiter came back and said they would now cook whatever I wanted. At that point I gave up.I managed to attract attention of the owner and appraised him of the situation. Got excuses of staff being off sick and an inexperienced waiting staff - not my problem. Got a promise of cooking a meal for me. Who wants to eat when everyone else is finished? To add insult to injury we were overcharged (which was adjusted) with no reduction to the bill for the poor food or service. No point in arguing further - owner obviously felt charge was fair. Not good - so disappointed for my family and having suggested this place.

To supplement injuries, we were overloaded (which was adjusted) without reducing the bill for poor food or service. No point in the probation of other owners obviously was the fee fair. Not so disappointed for my family and suggested this place.

We were staying at the hotel and the restaurant was busy, a good sign, so we gave it a try. The antipasto was very good. I enjoyed linguine with prawns for main course, along with a bottle of local spatburgander read wine. Very nice indeed. Service was very good and prompt, despite there being a big group of diners. There seems to be a lot of Italians in this little wine town, and we certainly enjoyed ourselves at this restaurant.
