We were looking for a fun place to have a beer or two after a day of hiking at Fundy national Park. We were attracted to Buddha Bear by the smell from the large wood-burning oven located in front of the property. We ordered local draft beers from a good selection, and proceeded to order food-then more food! Raw oysters, baked oysters, mussels, and scallops with bacon and brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious, especially the cooked items that picked up some of the nice wood smoke flavor. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio and chatting with several other visitors while savoring our meal.
We wanted coffee and hot chocolate for the kids as it was raining all day. So we went into this church-turned-to-bar. Funky hipster joint. Not very big but still had old church pews for seating. For 4 pm it was packed with chatty tourists. The owner was so busy but while he was making the hot chocolates, he roasted marshmallows for my kids' drinks! They were so excited and we were so touched by this extra even though he had plenty of patrons to tend to. They were various beers on tap to try. We had Kenyan coffees and they were good! Wished we had time to return for food and drinks!
This place was a cute little gem. We stopped for some beverages and appetizers. It was all great! Our only disappointment was that we didn't get to try to cold brew coffee because they were sold out.
Wow! What a surprise in Alma! Excellent local beer on a tap and excellent espresso! Very nice surprise after visiting the park!
