small traditional French bistro . you should not be proud of its frontier bar, because for a well-run lunch, it is very well-run. the reception is very friendly, the decor is without chichi as if we were in the dining room of mom. but the essential is what we're going to have on his plate, and the surprise is of size. they make a family kitchen, do not look for things out of top chef, it is not the goal, or then pass your way. they do what they control. simple and effective. and that is their strong point. at prices that won’t put your cb on the diet, very copied plates will calm your most arduous hungers. whether it’s the menu or the card, you have for your money. small mention for their tin. what you pay 25€ in town for a very sad slice, there for half its price you have something honest. In short to conclude, that you are going for a quick family lunch, or travel passage (easy parking in front ) , I will not be able to recommend this address , because between the friendly service , quick , and the comforting bistro kitchen of the couple , you will have all understood . it became my qg when I come home to my family.

Has to be reviewed, because the lunch quality is way above what you might expect from the outside. If you're stopped at the traffic lights where the road to Carcassonne meets the road to Limoux, the exterior looks like a typical local bar where you might with luck get a simple snack. Make the effort to find their (newish) dining room behind the bar and you will be both surprised and rewarded. The welcome and service is all you would expect from a small family affair. Setting is clean and efficient, not picturesque. Value for money first class, at 13€ for lunch time set menu and other good offers like a quick omelette or a huge entrecôte steak, of a quality which I found better than many allegedly superior establishments. Exceptional in its class.

Well off the town centre away from all those **** tourists this brasserie offers fantastic value for money with traditional French cooking. Run by Phillipe and his charming wife, who is the chef, the food is fantastic every lunchtime and changes daily. It is very popular with the French workers and with us two elderly Brits. Where else can you get a great lunchtime meal mid week to include a starter, main course, pudding, coffee and wine all for 13 euros. We have been married for over 50 years so I think it is high time I spoilt my long suffering wife, and at this price for this quality I can afford to as long as she behaves.
