The actual garden centre and giftware is lovely but the food in the restaurant really does need bringing up a notch. Have visited twice during the Christmas period. First visit I ordered baked potato. The potato was so tiny that there was very little potato...actually left within the tough overcooked skin so it proved inedible. Visited again today and the roast parsnip soup tasted exactly like the water that the parsnips had been boiled in as if the used water had been poured into the bowl. It was tasteless, thin and inedible. I noticed the table next door complained about their baked potatoes. The prices aren’t bad but they need better chefs.
Went for a family Birthday Breakfast for adults and a child. The full breakfast is a fare price until it arrives. The bacon was inedible so hard and crispy it would have been hanging around for most of the morning. The poached eggs...were as hard and like rubber. The sausages were raw. The meal cost around which the price would have been fine had it of been edible. I will not be returning and I definitely would not recommend.
we were here this afternoon and were disappointed by what we had. two cheese-friendly three pieces Bakewell tea and three drinks was the tee so weak that it was terrible that the scones were really dry and the bakewell was the biggest disappointment. we thought that we would get a nice piece of bakewell, with icing up they were individual without taste, whatever will not eat here again
Visit to the Garden Center and shop most enjoyable ,helpful pleasant staff. Sorry to say visit spoilt by very disappointing lunch in the Restaurant, waiting staff pleasant but food very poor value over priced smallest portion of fish I have seen on a plate of...fish and chips . Manager not interested in my comments .
