So when you get done soaking in the customary Lucerne views along the river and the lake and you want to savor the food instead, I'd definitely suggest Bolero. A friend and I tried the tapas menu, choosing three of the four courses offered. You get to pick your own first course chosen from cold and hot tapas, each combining intriguing flavors. Then come the set courses -- three different seafood tapas for the second course and three different meat ones for the third course. You get all of them and they're all tasty -- so go easy on the number of tapas you're tempted to take during your first course. Dessert adds a possible fourth course -- but you'll be more than full before that. We had lovely service from Larissa, but many of the other staff stopped by to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, which we were. And just as importantly, they actually seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. Bolero is well worth the 10 minute walk from the river.
Very decent and delicious food, beautiful dinnerware. Ipads were provided to show the food and drinks with a detailed description of the ingredients with pictures. I am not familiar with Spanish food and drinks so I can easily order the things I love without confusion caused by the name of the dishes. The waiter is kind and helpful. After checking the bill, free dessert was provided, which is my favourite - Spanish churros with chocolate. The chocolate was delicious. Not sure if it's Swiss Chocolate sauce. The paella was extraordinarily delicious and large. Lots of mussels, big shrimps. Lots of seafood was found. The extra prawns ordered were delicious too. The cold potato soup was super delicious. These were all unexpected. Unluckily that I couldn't try the Sangria because of illness. If I visit Lucerne again, I must be back. I have already recommended this restaurant to the tour guide and other tourists.
Great compromise if your important other is not vegan. The menu is presented in tablet form. Vegan options include protein balls, hummus plate, patatas band, gazpacho, paella (planted with "pules", which I suspect is jackfruit-based) and olives. A little limited. A beautiful surprise well made a free appetizer of bread with a tomato dipping sauce, olives and salmon (for your non vegan accomplices) and a small perfect churro dessert. The double hummus plate consists of a beet and chickpea hummus which were both very good, nothing special but very good. 2 some salty roasted dough pieces accompany the hummus. The protein balls come very well in a salty engraving, but too much salt. Service exceptional. Updated by previous rating on 2022 08 28
You have some vegan options and the food is fine, but very expensive in my opinion. And unfortunately the waiting staff does not seem to know exactly what is in the food they serve. And the concept is really not for me as well as after 2.5 h the table will be given a second time in the evening, and that is for me only not what is a relaxed food experience (it is somehow mercenaries). #Veganuary
