Friends and I were in Tenerife for the day while on a cruise. Jaime, our guide and owner of Feel Tenerife, gave us a wonderful tour. For lunch, he took us to Bodegon Matias, a place with lots of locals. We had an assortment of Canarian foods: Chickpeas with pork, broiled cheese topped with red and green mojo, fish stew, roasted rabbit, chunks of fish topped with sauce, potatoes with two sauces, a light mousse for dessert; wine and water. Everything was delicious. The owners of the restaurant came to our table and were pleased we enjoyed our lunch. It's not in the center of town, but if you can find this place, go!!

We came here for dinner with our 5 year old daughter and baby son. We were met with staff sat around the table by the entrance and smoking but decided to stay as we did not have plan B. My wife ordered rabbit (conejo salmorejo) I had beef stew and our daughter had grilled chicken. Rabbit and stew was so so salty we could not feel any other taste- just the salt. All night and next morning we felt like after good night out- and had to have water by us all the time. Only daughters chicken was not too bad. It’s just another disappointment trusting good tripadvisor reviews.

We luckily happened upon this restaurant our first night in Tenerife we turned the corner to find something warm after getting caught and drenched in the rain. The staff was friendly, warm, and welcoming. And patient with our mediocre Spanish. Great ambiance. Many gluten free options, including bread. Baca, potatoes, pork, bread, wine all delicious. Highly recommend!!
