We've always enjoyed going to Blufish when we're in Winnipeg...very good sushi and other dishes, pleasant surroundings, comfortable chairs, and always pleasant service. But our exemplary experience this evening really impressed us. We had an hour to eat dinner during the Winnipeg Fringe. Could the restaurant accommodate this? Yes! If we stuck with raw food, we'd be able to do so. We ordered quickly. We picked 2 maki dishes, 1 large nigiri, and wakami salad. The waitress brought the dishes out post haste - all were delicious. We even had time for green tea ice cream. The time? A mere 30 minutes! Yeah Blufish!

Went here for a birthday with 7 hungry people. Waitress was very helpful and prompt with service and suggestions from the extensive menu. Scallops and spicy ben were standouts, classic rolls California and dynamite were all good. Tempura was light, not greasy and seasoned nicely. Restaurant itself was nice with high ceilings and a windows for some natural light. Pricey, but sushi is expensive.

The atmosphere was friendly and the service was polite, but a bit absent, as there just seemed to be one wait staff for the restaurant and it was quite full. The rolls weren't particularly refined and the rice had a slightly gummy quality. But, the tuna sashimi was flavourful, though the slices were a bit thick/chunky.

So good we went the next day for lunch. Based on the trip advisor review, we went to try this restaurant. The choices were plentiful and very interesting. The staff including Abby were very friendly and efficient! And the Sushi was just divine. We will go back next time in Winnipeg!!!
