"Nice restaurant inside. Attentive staff. A little cramped. The canette was exceptionally good. However the cassoulet the driest I have ever seen. No juice at all. Very odd. On reflection, should have questioned it at the time. But it was presented to us, so it was eaten."

We went to this restaurant based on the many excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. We could not figure out what all the hype was about. The tables are very close together and the room was very noisy. The wait staff, while pleasant, seemed to be in the learning stages of their careers. We asked, in French, how certain dishes were prepared. They couldn't answer, but said they would go to the kitchen and ask. After a very long time another waiter came over and asked if we were ready to order. Never got our answers and never figured out what happened to the first waiter.Food was OK, but nothing remarkable. We were going to order dessert, but after 25 minutes of looking at our empty dinner plates, we decided we'd had enough. We asked for the check and it took another 20 minutes.Maybe this was an off night. It was a Wednesday night and the place was full, so obviously other people saw something we didn't.With so many great restaurants in France, this just didn't do it for us.

Recommended by our hotel we headed straight and early. The rhubarb 'champagne' was revelatory as well as the fried marrows in sticks and the friendly attitude of the maitre d'. The main courses were not as impressive as the first impact but overall it is a lively bistro with enthousiastic recurring clientele offering thoughtful local recipes with diction and conviction.Fine wine list in context. Pricey.

TripAdvisor is a great guide to finding hidden treasures but you always worry that things are either exaggerated or have changed since the review. Well this restaurant is number 1 for good reason. Great service, food quality and ambiance. Could not recommend it more highly. It made the perfect end to a day's racing in beautiful Compiegne.

Went there following friend recommendation. It is probably the best value quality of meal and price in Compiegne at the moment ( not a budget restaurant thought). I had a menu of the day, generous and qualitative. Service is good and place really nice ( looks like a refurbished industrial local). Worth to have a try
