I just happened to see Big Star as I drove by. On the way back I stopped to take a look at the menu. I saw so many people enjoying the sandwiches I had to try. I ordered the classics corned beef sandwich. Half a...pound of meat with Swiss cheese on rye bread with grainy mustard and a home made pickle for $10.95. It was delicious. The place is new, clean and well lit. It was lunch hour and only one person making the sandwiches made it too slow. That knocked it down a notch for me. Otherwise it was excellent. A must try for those of us living in beautiful Burnaby.

There was no Liam Neeson sight, but the line up was still quite long. But who needs Liam Neeson when the sandwich itself was so damn good. True, as a previous comment said that the bungalow could have been roasted or freshly baked to make it...warm and crispy. But I can't complain. Ordered the big #5 Roast Beef, Bacon, Guacamole and Cheese with hickory Stick Sprinkles. It was delicious. It was thick, juicy and crisp. It was a big star.
I was at Charlie's Chocolates on Canada Way and noticed Big Star Sandwich Co. next door. You can choose from hand-pulled turkey (roasted overnight) or 12 hour roasted beef or house-made corned beef. I ordered a large turkey sandwich with bacon, cheddar and (extra) guacamole....This was a most delicious sandwich!
