"So I love that you get chips and guacamole with salsa before you order but the food was ok. The drinks was great, the shrimp empanada I had was good but I was not crazy about my meal. I had shrimp with like a sweet plantain mash. I thought it was just too sweet and the tres leches was not a hit for me."

Went to Besito for brunch during my birthday weekend. They were very accommodating when making the reservation. Originally, I had about 15 people and they offered a private room with no additional cost or need to do a prix fixe. The restaurant is spacious. The day of the number reduced to 8 people and they had a large table for us in the general dining area. It was a Sunday and they had a 2 for 1 margarita special. A friend and I ordered the mango margarita that we both didn't really like. It did not taste like a typical mango margarita. My cousins ordered a frozen margarita that they enjoyed. I switched to the watermelon margarita after which I enjoyed. It was very refreshing. I liked that you were able to switch to a different one for your second one and weren't obligated to order the same exact one. We started off with the guacamole to share. It was pretty disappointing for a Mexican restaurant. We all joked that it felt like the person making it got distracted and forgot to finish it. It was missing salt and lime, but we're easy going so we just asked for some and jazzed it up ourselves at the table. The chips also came with salsa which was good. For our entrees, most of us ordered their iron skillets tacos. I got the mixtos which had Grilled skirt steak, chorizo, chicken, queso Chihuahua served with a nopales salad and corn tortillas. The tacos came with rice and beans for the table, but it was not a big portion considering how many people we had, but again we made it work. One of my cousins orderd the salmon salad with pistachio crusted salmon, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, roasted corn, avocado, queso fresco, chipotle cream dressing. It's one of the best looking salads I've seen and I am not a big salad fan. Her husband got the filete de res, filet mignon which came with a side of plantains with queso fresco. He was tearing his food up so apparently it was good. My other cousin got the arrachera, grilled skirt steak with an arugula salad that could not be subbed which he was disappointed about, because like me, not a big salad fan. The steak was a good portion though so he enjoyed his meal and we let him have most of the rice and beans. They came out with a tres leches cake for my birthday which I ate by myself. It was good. Overall, the meal was enjoyable. The portion sizes are decent. Enough to keep you satisfied. The prices are a little high for Mexican food, but for the neighborhood it's to be expected. The servers were attentive and it was a good dining experience. I'd go back again.

My friend and I came and asked for a table outside. The Maitre d' looked at us as if it were a bizarre request and scanned all tables before you cleared us on the only free table outside. Got the menus and was shocked by the prices at first glance. We decided to order fish tacos, fried plantain and chicken nchiladas. The fish tacos were beautiful and crispy and a good part for a starter, the fried 'Plantain' was really roasted banana, so it was much more of a dessert than an appetizer. The enchiladas were a good part, but they were a little on the salty side (and I usually add salt to my food) and the kitchen staff had a mess to place them, and so the dish looked dirty. All in all food and service were 3 stars. The prices fell to 2... in my book you really need to start to a much higher quality to calculate these prices.

I love this authentic Mexican in Port Washington. This restaurant is located in a beautiful neighborhood with a huge private parking, it is super clean and staff could not be more beautiful. In addition to the spectacular dishes they offer, do not forget in their huge selection of tequilas (legal age naturally). I always favor her Carne Asada, but trust me, everything is good.

as today is national tequila day, we have celebrated one of our favorites by following besito in roslyn for their Sunday specials! 2 for 1 margaritas of 12-3, plus a special tequila flight, tasty sides and churros? are definitely sitting in the bar area, great service by oscar and the team, and a cozy atmosphere. we're back!
