Pizzeria Bellariva is in my opinion a family restaurant. It is run by 4 brothers and you can see them working just like anyone else. The restaurant is located right next to the TCS Camping Gordevio Vallemaggia . Lot of families with children come to restaurant and there is a place where the kids can play while the food is ready. Food is great and the atmosphere is superb. My favorite orders were the pasta aglio olio peperoncino and the pizza bellariva. You can order half portion of pasta as appetizer and then finish with a fabolous pizza. The Waitstaff is very friendly and helpful, even the cooks sometime interact wit the guests. The restaurant don 't take credit cards, only cash. In any moment I felt like I was rushed, in the contrary they want you to enjoy the food and your company. If you already live in Switzerland then perhaps you can consider this restaurant in the very affordable category, but for the rest of us that come from other EU countries it 's not cheap and that is thanks to the exchange rate and because the standar of living in Switzeland is higher. A pizza might cost between CHF15 CHF18.50 (EUR13/USD15 EUR17/USD19). Dinner for a family of 5 including appetizers and drinks might costs you EUR160/USD180. But again if you have chosen Switzerland as your vacation destination then you surely are well aware of that you have to spend some extra . I highly recommend the place, kids love it, Ahhh don forget to order a boccalino of red or withe house wine!!
We ordered a takeaway pizza at Bellariva because we were staying at the nearby camping. When the bill was already issued, the man we ordered to informed us they took no credit cards. I found it unfair to know it only then, but the man said we could come back even the following day to pay. I like clear things from the beginning (a sign would have sufficed), but this is my problem, I guess. The moment I replied that I was surprised for such a crowded place not to take credit cards, not only the man but also a colleague of him addressed me in a very unpleasant, mocking way. They said they were like Moroccan people without credit card system because they were from Calabria which is almost Morocco . I found this remark utterly unpleasant and racist. The discussion heated up, and the colleague came to me and put his hand on my shoulder to calm me down. Again I found it disgraceful, especially because I told him not to touch me and he ignored my request. Unfortunately, our orders where already placed and because we were with kids and there is not much choice for food around, we had to stay. It took forever to have our pizzas, and it was really a disturbing situation. The pizza was good though, but definitely overpriced.
The restaurant is just next to the camping where we stayed. The place is nice and convenient. The personnel is always pkeasant even during rush hour. Note that they only accept cash no credit card. We didn't know that the first day and they let us go and come back another day to pay which was very nice of them.
Pizza was outstanding, service great. Only disadvantage was the cash only policy. Staff was friendly, definitely a good place to eat.
