Bayleaf - Table reservation

Firstly I have eaten at the Bayleaf restaurant several times and the food is usually good. On this Occasion, I ordered on a Friday evening at 17:03 though the Bayleaf's website for a food order to be delivered at 18:40 and got an email confirmation with the order and delivery time Address. By 19:10, it was still not delivered, so I called the restaurant and explained the situation, The person from the restaurant was a bit rude and not showing care for my problem, I was told my order had left the restaurant and was on its way (Note: the distance between the restaurant and my delivery location is only about 10 minute drive) Finally between 19:45 19:50 (so over an hour late) the driver arrived with my order, when I started to question why the restaurant had lied to me and why it had taken over an hour, the driver threatened to call the police. Then the driver called the restaurant and I spoke to someone, he did not listen to the problem, that I had a confirmed order time and it was over an hour late, then he denied that I had been told on my first telephone call that the order had left more than 30 minutes ago. Based on the ticket I got with my food, there is a problem with there system not logging the correct delivery time (I have heard from our customers I know, which have had the same problem) The biggest issue is the attitude of the person on the phone and the delivery driver trying to cover and lie about what actually happened. P.S; I am Waiting for feedback from the restaurant.

Bayleaf is the best Indian restaurant in Basel! We decided to break our fast at Bayleaf restaurant on the evening of 11.05.20; during the month of Ramadhan; on the first day eating out was made permissible after months of Lockdown ! We were desperate for a great night out and got more than we could’ve hoped for when we decided to go to Bayleaf! The service n food were impeccable! There was so much variety and flavour, no two dishes tasted similar. Everything was fresh, divine and delectable, made with real passion from the heart! A highly recommended, unforgettable dining experience awaits you! Please eat in or get a takeaway soon-you will not be disappointed! Not to mention the array of halal, vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes on offer-you will be spoilt for choice! Having lived in Basel a few years back for a 9 month period, I managed to market test all the Indian restaurants with food from this part of the world being a particular favorite of mine. During a long weekend in early December, I decided to return to this one with my wife and it didn’t disappoint. Butter chicken was wonderful, mutter paneer was one of the best, and the aubergine side dish was awesome. It was great to see that they had upheld their high quality of food and service! Will surely return on a future visit.

We are Carolin and Mario and know a lot about food. You can feel it’s all cooked from scratch and the taste of the homemade flavors are authentic. It’s not just the amazing smell when you entrance the restaurant, it’s also the personality of the owner Nadin, who has the passion and interest to tell you all about his cuisine. Everyone who loves food, should take the time and eat this traditional dishes. We will definitely come again.

Excellent, thoughtful service (Serena)! Ordered a vegetarian non-vegetarian thalli and also a portion of samosas (2 pieces). More than ample portions. Salted lassi mango kulfi. Will be back. One small drawback: toilets are in the basement and no lift access
