"They had a guy playing music and singing in the corner of an already tiny space, was too loud, couldn't have a conversation. Server was rude... food was low quality. I did enjoy my side salad. Though I felt like it was a bother to ask for salad instead of French fries.Dietary restrictions: If you ask for healthy choices...you are made to feel like it is a bother."

We loved our lunch at Barbara’s Family Restaurant, we were allowed to bring our service dog inside, which is huge considering the extreme heat outside. She laid well under the table and enjoyed watching all the people.I really enjoyed my French Dip sandwich, with the perfect amount of cheese on a perfectly toasted bun. It was so big I took some home.My husband had the veggie omelet with hash browns. The service was just right and the atmosphere was lively. We saw all ages enjoying a variety of good looking food.My husband can’t wait until next time to try the thick onion rings he saw being served at the next booth. This is a picture of only half my French Dip sandwich with fries.Vegetarian options: Crisp salads and several vegetable choices. Most meals can be prepared without meat.Kid-friendliness: It looked like the kids were enjoying their meals and had several kids meals to choose from.Parking: This is a stone parking lot but we’ll maintained when we were there.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp I believe and a wide doorway .Dietary restrictions: Request your meal as you want it prepared.

Barbara's family restaurant is a hidden gem in the Riverview and Apollo Beach area. The service from the staff and the owner was friendly, personable, and timely during my visit. The catfish was not overcooked and seasoned just right, and the collard greens were exceptionally good coming from a restaurant. The beverages are standard, but the sweet tea reminds me of the tea made by Bojangles chicken and McDonald's. I would drink this over a soda any day. Some would say that the prices are high. What they don't tell you is the amount of food you receive. I ordered a fish plate and had to take what I couldn't eat home. Fridays are all you can eat fish, and you better get there early. The parking lot and restaurant fill up quickly. The one glaring fault is the size of the restaurant, and the bathrooms are located outside the restaurant. Definitely needs an upgrade in size to accommodate the great service. Aside from this, it's an awesome place to eat.

I'd give this place no stars if I could. Rode out with a group of buddies on our hogs. Pulled in and it said they opened at 6:30am on the marquee . We arrived at 7:30am, put all our stuff away in our bikes while waitresses were walking in. Walked up to a locked door. The waitress said they don't open until 8am. They are covered with signs saying they're open but you'd think the woman would be considerate enough to say something while we were parking. They instantly lost a group of customers. I'll be telling every single biker I know about this dump. They obviously could care less.Update 9/23/23Shame on me for giving them another try. They suck period.

My wife and I were on a Sunday drive and this place jumped out at us as we got hungry. The food was worth the wait. Be patient as they are short staffed. OMG!!!! When you are eating you don't even feel like you are in a restaurant. It does taste like you are home. Can't wait to go back again and just try the desert. Again be patient as they are short staffed but so worth it!!!!!
