at the last visit in berlin we were so impressed by this original balthasar. it seems to have lost some of its enthusiasm - perhaps because the middle is now such a popular place and commercial/social are moved on. the kitchen was perfect, the restaurant was empty. when I look at balthazar's website and have been a restaurant publicist for a few decades, my impression is that the gastronome/cook should perhaps spend more time before the house. happy to be wrong!
wonderful restaurant! had ordered the swollen water buffalo with potato puree. it was tender and juicy. to dessert: I had served the strawberry on three species and she was absolutely divine! my favorite was the strawberry cream brlée. yum! will definitely come back!
once again a very nice evening with a fine menu (you can even enjoy low carb excellent) at an absolutely reasonable price-performance ratio. great attentive service! and the restaurant manager, herr kudelka, a true host. we come back and look forward to it!
we visited the balthazar on 17.07.2017 and were totally enthusiastic. great appetizers and outstanding lead. nice, friendly and competent staff. very good price-performance ratio. further visits to holger zurbrüggen are on the plan at each berlin visit.
