We visited Paris, then drove down to the Loire Valley to visit some of the chateaux. Cerdon is on the east end of the Loire River, closest to the Chateau at Sully-Sur-Loire to the south. This restaurant has such great reviews by locals, it really caught our attention. I am so glad we went! The name means the "2 Woodcocks" and there's a bird and hunting lodge feel. The food is thoughtfully prepared by two local female chefs.They are only open Thurs, Fri and Sat serving lunch and dinner. The menu changes frequently depending on seasons and availability of ingredients. It really reminded me of a cross between a fancy Beverly Hills restaurant and Paris bistro. A put-together decor, laid back ambiance and relaxing service. It was a great meal. Our hostess was a cute lady who spoke great English. We started with the house made foie gras. It was the best I've ever had! They were also serving mushrooms from a local farm, stuffed with local goat cheese. They have a great wine list (of course), and also serve cocktails. For our entrees, we had a steak entrecote served with a compound butter Provencal, a spiny back ray (had to look this one up) in beurre blanc. The flavor was like lobster in drawn butter, only better. We were going to pass on dessert until we saw the molten chocolate cake in pistachio cream. It was all so delicious! I am so glad we ventured off the beaten path to try this restaurant. We usually try to avoid the touristy places and dining here was one of the best decisions we made on our trip.
Played here the other day. Observations include: 1Greens on some of the holes have no grassSome have grass but are bumpy. 2.
This course should be awesome, but sadly it's a dump that appears to be going down fast.
