Thanks again Trip Advisor for yet another recommendation. Hidden in a lane way off the main thoroughfare is Au P’tit Bouchon despite our late arrival our hostess was happy to find us a table inside upstairs. Quarters are a little cramped, but the...meals more than made up for it. Our hostess spoke perfect English we had no difficulty making ourselves understood, even with my limited French. We selected from the Formule altho’ the A La Carte menu was just as inviting. I chose their Grande Lyonnaise salad which was as its name suggests, huge. Plenty of fresh leaves, croutons, dices of cheese tomato masses of lardons (diced bacon) with a perfect poached egg perched on top. What a delight, especially when the egg is pierced oozes through the remaining ingredients. Magnifique! My spouse chose a Piece du Bouchon with a side of frites for once, his steak was cooked to perfection.....still lightly pink inside but tender not chewy. His meal also came with a green salad. We chose a bottle of Côte de Provence Rose from the extensive wine menu it did not disappoint complimented both meals perfectly. As the dessert list was also extensive, we both chose the Lemon Meringue Pie. Best ever! Light pastry with lemon filling which was neither too sweet nor too sour topped with a fluffy meringue which also was not too sweet. On the side was a pile of fluffy cream covered with berry coulis which completed the dessert setting. Included with the Formule was hot strong coffee, which my spouse enjoyed, whilst I opted for a pot of black tea. A perfect way to end a remarkable meal. Total price was around which included the wine. How could you complain about that! Would recommend to anyone visiting Vienne as it serves typical French dishes using fresh local produce.

An amazing, delicious little stop just off the main drag. I got the daily meat? I believe? Our French is rough, but regardless, it was good! My mother got the Grande Salad, which she enjoyed. We ordered on the menu, which means we got dinner...and dessert, along with coffee for a fixed price. This made it that the four of us, two of which ordered wine in addition, all got food for about total. Which was honestly rather cheap! For such incredible food, this would’ve cost easy like or in the states. They’re all incredibly friendly, too, and taught us a few more French words! I recommend this place fully. Do note: they do close about or to prepare for dinner. So try to get there a bit before then!

Saturday lunch when travelling north between Rosières and Beaune. We ordered the Grand salads that will reward any appetite. Just what was needed for a stop: seated outside in the shade with passers-by to add interest. Park in the Gare multi-storey and walk,...keeping your eyes peeled for the alleyway.

We ate here on September. Great selection of local cuisine on the menu and the food was excellent. Great wine list too! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great choice for dinner!
