We came to Barr for local vines testing and as usual decided to try local restaurants. By share chance we stop by at Au Potin. The name sounds like a Russian President name - we found it a bit funny and decided give it a try. The result was fantastic! We were the company of 5 people and all of us choose different dish. We have had foie gras for a starter. They fry it and serve it with lentil. Great starter! One of the best foie gras dish I had so far. We have tried each other dishes and all of them were great. Weal, beef, fish, risotto - all was superb. I would strongly recommend weal, risotto and beef. Also we have had deserts - brownies were out of this world! All together if you driving through Alsace I would strongly recommend to stop at Au Potin for lunch or dinner.

Our hosts at La Villa du Coteau recommended this restaurant. It was a short drive from Obernai and well worth the drive. The décor is like a Parisienne Brasserie run by the friendliest and quirkiest maître de, passionate about his restaurant. The menu is extensive and uses fresh local produce. My husband had beef and I had lamb. We are from Australia and boast some of the best lamb in the world, but I have to say this lamb was probably the best I have ever eaten. We had a lovely local Riesling with our main. For dessert we had the lightest profiteroles and finished with a fabulous espresso. Don't miss eating at this fabulous restaurant.

A very pleasant evening eating out on the terrace in the evening sunshine. Very well prepared and presented food using local and seasonal ingredients. The wine list emphasised the local production and by the glass and carafe as well as bottle.
