We ate here twice. Well, almost. Our first visit was an extraordinary culinary experience, from welcome, to food, to service. We had the chicken liver parfait with Pedro Ximenez, hazelnut, and toasted brioche which was a symphony of flavours, a luxurious start to an unforgettable meal. Tasted out of this world! The 10oz salt-aged sirloin steak was cooked to perfection, offering a juicy and robust taste that satisfied every carnivorous craving. The pork loin, accompanied by BBQ courgette, basil, crackling, and an apple vinegar sauce, was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that left me in awe. The sausage and courgette roll added a delightful twist to the dish. The black truffle cauliflower cheese was a decadent side, elevating a classic comfort food to new heights. And for dessert, the banana panna cotta with miso, caramel, and peanut was a creative masterpiece, ending the meal on a sweet note. Shibden Mill Inn truly delivered an exquisite dining experience, with each dish showcasing the chef's culinary artistry. It's a place where food becomes an unforgettable adventure for the senses. Sadly, after being so excited to visit a second time, we were let down by extraordinarily slow and almost uninterested service so we had our starter, a drink and left. Apart from that, the Michelin star food alone is well worth a visit!
Went for lunch for my wife's birthday with our 2 dogs. Setting is fabulous and the exterior is impressive. The inside is just as impressive feels very atmospheric. The food was as expected first class and the staff were extremely friendly. It is certainly a place to be visited from near or far but if you have dogs remember to book as the space for dogs is limited. Highly recommended. Rooms: 5
Lovely secluded pub with nice outside seating. Inside like stepping back in time. Food and rooms look delightful and appears like a place for a weekend stay for treat or special occasion.
